Our Story
DeFeo’s Landscaping of Central New Jersey, Inc. was founded in 1984 with a simple goal: to design and build outdoor spaces that make everyday life at home more enjoyable. What started as a small, family-run operation has grown into a full-service landscape design–build company trusted by homeowners throughout Somerset, Middlesex, and the surrounding counties.

Step 1 – Consultation:
We begin with a site visit to walk your property, discuss your goals, and talk through budget, timing, and how you envision using your outdoor space. This is our opportunity to listen, answer questions, and identify opportunities and constraints on the site.
Step 2 – Design & Planning:
Our team then develops a landscape plan that may include patios, walkways, plant beds, lighting, and other features tailored to your home. We review materials and layout options with you, refine the design as needed, and finalize a clear scope of work.
Step 3 – Build:
Once the plan is approved, our in-house crews handle the installation—from demolition and grading to hardscaping, planting, and finishing touches. Keeping work in-house helps us maintain consistent quality, manage schedules, and protect your property throughout construction.
Step 4 – Care & Support:
After installation, we walk the project with you, review how to care for new plants and features, and remain available for questions and ongoing maintenance. Our goal is long-term relationships, so we treat every project as the beginning of a partnership, not the end.
